I promised myself I would do the Great North Run before I was 40 and true to form I have left it as late as I possibly could.

I've not ran a large distance for years so this is going to be some challenge for me however the fact that I am running for Cancer Research will and is assisting me.

A lot of you won't know that I was diagnosed with cancer when I was in my early twenties, the care and support I received during this time was second to none and this is my opportunity to try and give something back and hopefully one day help others in a similar position.
