I have had a passion for running on and off now since 2010. I have completed the Edinburgh and New York Marathons in the past, however my fitness has now literally whaled again.

Unfortunately I lost my Dad in October 2015 to Cancer. His fight was courageous and brave. Until you suffer Cancer first hand, you have no idea how bad it actually is. The emotions that go with it for all of the family are horrendous, not to mention the disease itself.

I hope and pray that in my life time, that I see a cure for this dreadful disease.

I am doing this marathon, in my dad's memory.  I want to get myself back to peak fitness through the marathon, and make my dad proud that I have got fit again and ran the marathon for him.

At the same time, it gives me a great opportunity to help with the fantastic work that Macmillan does. Although we never used them much, I appreciate the fantastic work that they do.
