12 years ago, I lost my mother in law, Pat Stubley, to breast cancer after a 2 year battle with the disease. She was only 52 and it rocked our family, we hoped she'd be one of the survivors!
In 2010, in memory of her mother, my wife Sandra Dale ran the London Marathon for breakthrough breast cancer to raise money for research to help fight and conquer the disease. Later that year, ironically on the same day that breakthrough sent Sandra her certificate for the money she had raised, Sandra was herself diagnosed with the same condition. Following her treatment we are just over 2 years clear now (a milestone event) and are looking forward positively, but for those of you who have been affected by this disease, you will know there is still no guarantee.
Accordingly I want to help breakthrough beat this dreadful disease, for the sake of my daughter, your daughter, or maybe their daughters, somewhere it will end and in order for that to happen we need to help the people who are at the frontline fighting.
I thank you in anticipation of you making a donation to sponsor us for the gruelling challenge its greatly appreciated, particularly whilst money is as tight as it is!!
