We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

During the summer of 2020, I went to see my doctor with ongoing pain in my arm. I was referred to a specialist where I underwent a series of tests, and by the October I was given the shocking diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. This was not in my life plan………………

Since my diagnosis, my life has changed significantly. I had to retire early as I could no longer carry out my work. Each day I battle with my own frustrations, physical strength, and anxiety, but with the help of some amazing people at Parkinson's UK support groups, my family and friends, I have been able to gain a new focus and I am determined to push myself and take on physical challenges that I know I will find difficult.

2023 - Year of Fundraising

I have set out this year to have a ‘Year of Fundraising’. My first event and largest of my planned events, took place on Saturday 25th February. This was an Evening Dinner with comedy, live music and some fantastic auction and raffle prizes. The event was a sell out with over 170 people and an amazing success.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the event through attending themselves, bidding in the auctions, purchasing raffle balloons or providing prizes.  I would also like to thank the Wrightington Hotel, Andy Gaskell, Steph at Parkinson’s UK and all my friends and family who helped to make this event happen. We raised a fantastic amount of money as you can see. To keep challenging myself, I have now raised my original fundraising target.

Parkinson’s UK

Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. It affects around 145,000 people in the UK and every hour two more people are diagnosed. There are over 40 symptoms, from tremor and pain to anxiety.

Parkinson’s UK is the largest charitable funder of Parkinson’s research in Europe, leading the way to better treatments
and a cure. Please help me raise these much needed funds to help Parkinson’s UK find a cure for this debilitating condition.

Thank you for reading and supporting my page.
