Story
We are the family of Sue Margetts raising money in her memory for charities that provided her cancer treatment and care. Our mother died on the 15th December 2021 leaving with us an abundance of love, inspiration, and guidance, as her legacy from the most incredible Mum that any family could wish for. Our mother was our greatest pillar, our soul, our temple and our sanctuary. She cared not only for us, but for so many friends who she embraced around her, and who also cherish and pass on memories of her, continuing to carry her message. Through contribution to these charitable causes we remember her, and continue her brave will for fighting and advancing the treatment and support for those with cancer. Mum always said she was not a survivor, as she was able to continue to live and enjoy her life for over three decades through multiple remissions, and despite countless procedures, tests and medications that were hard on her mind and body. We are incredibly lucky and indebted that she could rise above cancer for so long, giving us extended time thanks to the NHS’ wonderful healthcare people and capabilities. From The Christie hospital, to local GP’s, district nurses, clinics, support groups, and in her last days the heroic Macmillan organisation, all held her in the best possible comfort and wellbeing until this saddest, most difficult time of her passing. Please donate as you can to our selected charities; The Christie and Macmillan are at the centre of the battle against cancer in the north of the UK. They are modern day warriors and hero’s who fight with care, talent, and medicine, to improve the life of people such as our Mother. We are humbled in appreciation of all those that looked after our Mum for so long, and dearly thank them. Your donation to these amazing charities will further their work in helping families like ours through the good times and the most difficult, support them to support others.
