London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·

Runners from around the community are taking to the streets of the City and Westimister to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon and raise money for life-changing mental health services!

Story

This year, now on 1 August to be exact, I'll be lacing up my trainers and taking on the challenge of running my first (and maybe my last!) half marathon. To motivate me to give it my all, I've decided to simultaneously raise awareness (and money) for local mental health charity, Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest.

There's never been a better time to provide support for mental health. In any given year, mental health problems will affect one in four people in the UK. The past year will only have amplified this for many. Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest offer a range of support and services to members of the community who are struggling daily with their mental health. Mind do vital and often unreported work and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to raise some much needed awareness and funds.

Going for a run has always been an activity that has been good for my own mental health and stopping the 'black clouds' descending. I hope my actions will help others.

Grateful for any donations!
