Story
By taking on the Dart10k I'm raising money for Level Water, helping children with disabilities to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. Swimming is an essential life skill and fabulous sport for children with disabilities. The water takes your weight; it’s a true leveller. It relieves pain and offers freedom and independence that many children never experience elsewhere. Swimming teaches physical skills like balance, coordination, rotation, stability and mobility that transfer beyond the pool. It teaches mental skills like resilience, confidence and builds self-esteem. Level Water works at over 100 pools around the country and they deliver 25,000 bespoke one-to-one swimming lessons each year. But the need is much higher. For every child learning to swim, another ten need their specialist support. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water. And they believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
