The Samaritans are now contacted on average once every 6 seconds often by someone who is at such a very low point that they are thinking of ending their life.

In addition to 'being there' when maybe no one else is, the Samaritans are equally busy behind the scenes working with other groups and organisations in our communities to support potentially vulnerable individuals or, in the worst case, to offer bereavement counselling for those left behind.

To help raise money for the Samaritans, I am planning to ride my motorcycle over 1,000 miles non-stop around a circuit of England, visiting both Wales and Scotland en-route, aiming to be back home within 24 hours of leaving on SATURDAY 18th AUGUST 2018.

I will register/verify the ride with the Iron Butt Association the international organisation dedicated to safe, long-distance, endurance motorcycle riding. 

I did this once before in 2011 (and vowed never to do it again!) but the Samaritans really do need some extra support right now, so I hope you will give generously.
