Nepal Sponsored Trek, 18 November 2016
We raise funds for local communities to help Nepali's rebuild Nepal

Story

This November I am joining a group of trekkers heading out to Nepal to visit and help some of the communities hit hardest by last year's major earthquake. The 7.8 earthquake that struck Nepal on 25 April 2015 killed over 8800, injured more than 21,000, and destroyed the homes of 3.5 million people. Despite over a year having passed since this disaster, rebuilding and recovery has been painfully slow and the severe humanitarian crisis in the country continues. This is the reason I am embarking on a sponsored trek through some of the devastated villages in the Sinhupalchowk region later this year and help to rebuild homes and improve structures such as water sources along the way.

All the funds raised here will be used to help rebuild the homes and livelihoods of the families and communities most in need in this area. We will be delivering reconstruction materials and other much-needed aid, as well as providing hands-on assistance to the rebuilding process.

Please give generously to help us help Nepal. 100% of your kind donations will go directly to those in need. Thank you.

About the charity

The people of Nepal are still suffering the effects of a severe humanitarian crisis following the earthquake of 25 April 2015 and its after effects. They need permanent shelters, supplies, and a path to restoring their lives. The ongoing political issues only exacerbate the nascent threats to the most vulnerable. We aim to help facilitate their recovery through the funding and implementation of efficient projects adhering to our values of transparency, accountability, kindness, collaboration, interaction, and grass roots engagement. NERF is now raising the funds needed to deliver recovery programs through our events, social media platforms and by approaching donors with collaborative programs designed with Nepalis, for Nepalis. You can be part of this story too...and we'll always show you how and where your donations are being put to work.
