Story

We did it!!!!! One our toughest challenges to date and setting new achievements, great team effort, be part of it and help us get to £1000 donations ))))))))))))) PLEASE xxxx

Stephen Sutherland & Robert Wilkinson Social Circle Triathlon Challenge.

We are embarking upon one of our hardest ever challenges (more like barking mad) to complete an Olympic Triathlon on Sunday 20th July in Birmingham. This consists of a 1 mile swim (we can't even swim), a 40k bike ride followed by a 10k run.

It's been a hard journey with little time for proper training and ill health and injuries to add to our woes so we hope you can appreciate the task at hand.

It would be crazy not to raise some much needed money for a local charity so please help and donate what you can for this epic adventure.

The Charity is:

The Complementary Therapy service at The Christie offers a range of therapies to help alleviate the physical and emotional affects experienced by patients and their carers as a result of a cancer diagnosis. The team offer treatments such as massage, aromatherapy, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, reflexology, touch therapy, creative visualisation and other various stress management techniques. These therapies are designed to complement patient’s treatments and can help in various ways:
- Dealing with stress, fears, anxieties, phobias and panic attacks
- Reduce or alleviate the side effects of the treatments e.g. nausea, neuropathy, pain, dry mouth, fatigue, hot flashes
- Helps patients to relax and cope with difficult procedures e.g. surgery, cannulation, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, MRI scans
- Smoking/alcohol cessation support
This valued service is provided free of charge to patients and carers, it is not funded by the NHS and relies totally on charity funding.
