Story
Well, I’m going to try to run for 26.2 miles at the London Marathon next April in
order to raise as much money as possible for the fantastic charity that is the NSPCC.
The NSPCC believes that every childhood is worth fighting for, and so do
I. Together I can play our part to help prevent child abuse and ensure that all children grow up healthy and thrive. All the money I raise will go direct to the NSPCC and the following lists what your money could do:
· £5 could pay to answer one NSPCC Helpline call;
· £25 could pay for a trained practitioner to spend an hour with a family supporting parents to care for their children;
· £500 could pay for running the NSPCC helpline for one hour;
· £1,600 could pay to recruit, train and support a new Childline
volunteer;
· £30,000 could pay to run Childline for one day.
Please take the time to read more about this fantastic charity; it is
amazing to see the difference they make: NSPCC - What We Do
Training has begun in earnest, with my first attempt at a long run
coming on 5 August 2018 quietly in Gloucester. During my training I will
also complete a number of different challenges.....so watch this space.
