Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’ll be running the London Marathon on Sunday for this great cause. I’ll be running in memory of Julie’s mum (Barbara), Auntie Kathleen, JT, George and Sharon who we have sadly lost in recent times.
I’ve managed to do quite a few marathons over the years and I’ve consistently displayed a complete lack of discipline with my training. But this time I’m proud (maybe that’s not quite the right word) to say that I’ve absolutely excelled myself, managing the grand total of one park run (5.1k) since the start of the year 🤣.
So I think this marathon might turn out to be rather an unpleasant experience, it’s gonna take me hours and hours 🤣 😜.
As if that isn’t stupid enough, I’ll also be doing RideLondon just a few weeks later on 28 May 2023, which is a 100 mile ride through the Essex countryside and into London. Unsurprisingly I haven’t covered myself in glory with my bike training either - in fact, I haven’t done any training for that at all and I’m not even entirely sure where my bike is! So that’s another day that is probably not going to go quite as smoothly as it possibly should do. .
But please don’t let my overwhelming ill-discipline and inept approach deter you from supporting Havens, who are truly deserving.
It’s difficult to put into words how much the support they provide means to the people they care for and their families. Our family will forever be indebted to them, given the love, care and compassion they gave when looking after Julie’s mum.
Thanks again for looking at my page. I know these are difficult times, so any donations will be so appreciated, no matter how much.
