During this pandemic, the generosity of Global Care's donors has literally saved the lives of thousands of people who would have otherwise been left to starve, however the impact of Covid-19 continues to devastate many communities. Global Care is continuing provide food, medicines, soap and water to families around the world who have lost their income, their independence and even their loved ones. Please don't let them lose the hope that they can and will get through this.

For five days I will be restricting my diet to the contents of one of the food parcels given to families in the Patripul area of Mumbai during lockdown. I will have the equivalent of an adult's portion which is about 1300 calories a day and consists mainly of rice, flour, lentils, onions and tomatoes. I will only have water to drink but I've been told that if I hit my target of £150 I can celebrate with a cup of coffee!

It seems like such a sacrifice until I think of the many hundreds of families in Patripul facing starvation who have been so grateful to receive these modest food parcels.
