Story
The Helvellyn Triathlon? That'd be a good idea I thought....
Seven solid months of training later I still keep thinking that I may have bitten off more than I can chew!...... The Helvellyn Triathlon is billed as one of the hardest triathlons in Britain.
So why am I doing it? Simple really: I've been really inspired by the grit and determination of many of the young people I've met and worked with at YMCA. Grit and determination that is enabling them to change their lives, by working through their issues, get onto training courses, tackling their fears, learn new skills, get jobs, get out of the benefit systems and also to give something back to their community.
And this has inspired me to take up this Personal Challenge - to demonstrate my own personal determination to succeed at something I didn't think was possible. It has also given me the opportunity to raise some money and, to tell everyone that YMCA really does do some amazing work.
