Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page. As I am sure lots of you are aware, I've applied year on year to enter the London Marathon but have never been successful in the ballot or been fortunate enough to receive a charity place, however, I was given the chance to run the marathon in aid of the The Quilter Foundation only for it to be cancelled due to COVID19 last year. I was lucky enough to be able to run the virtual martathon and now this year i am hoping to finally running the real thing. I  Here is some info about the charity I will be running for;

The Quilter Foundation supports the many thousands of young people in our communities who face a multitude of challenges. The charity’s mission is to empower young people to fulfil their potential, thrive and prosper.

Funds raised will be donated to the Foundation’s principle partner, Carers Trust, to provide immediate relief and personal development opportunities for young carers, aged 16-25, in our communities.

Today, there are an estimated 700,000 young carers in the UK looking after loved ones with disabilities, long-term illnesses, mental health issues or addiction problems. Because of their caring duties, young carers often feel isolated, anxious and depressed.

Working in partnership with Carers Trust the Foundations aims to give young carers the chance of a brighter future.
