Story
As many of you know I was very overweight and unfit, but a couple of years ago I was invited onto the ShapeUp support scheme as organised and run by the Watford FC Community, Sports and Education Trust. I was taught how to eat and manage my body better and I lost essential weight.
But also, after my serious health scare last year, the legacy of the ShapeUp programme and the lessons I learned with regards to diet, I have been able to get myself healthier again and in the position now to attempt this challenge, and hopefully in the process I can help fill the coffers for the trust so they can continue to help and educate others on how to look after and improve their lives.
Shape Up has been running for over 3 years and has helped over 850 men lose over 3.8 tonnes of weight. This programme is free to the public but WatfordFC CSE are raising funds to ensure the programme is financially sustainable.
The challenge involves walking up and down every stairwell in the Vicarage Road stadium which is in total over 1750 steps and the equivalent of climbing higher that the Empire State building AND down again!
