Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a coach at Norwich City Women FC and I have decided to take part in the Coastal Challenge to support Norwich City Community Sports Foundation in recognition of all the fine work the Foundation does, not only in Norwich but across Norfolk. The Foundation holds various programmes throughout the year to support their objectives of inclusion for people with disabilities, boosting mental health or wellbeing and also by giving opportunities to those from disadvantaged backgrounds to help raise their aspirations. The Foundation also operates a wide range of services that provide widespread community engagement and positive impact such as schools sports programme's and children's courses. The aim is to make a lasting difference in Norfolk.

Like many people, I have over the years faced many challenges myself and this is a great way to help and support a Charity that looks to make a difference and be a beacon of light in many peoples lives. I will no doubt find the coastal challenge, challenging personally as I have struggled with injuries in the past but I am also using this as motivation to help me continue to deal with complications relating to Type 2 Diabetes that I suffer from. Further to this, 18 months ago, I became unwell with Covid19, and unfortunately this has left me with many after effects such as concentration and other cognitive issues like brain fog, along with Chronic Fatigue. The worst symptoms being, I have suffered from over 540 days of consecutive headaches, these range from lingering to banging, debilitating headaches. They effect me daily along with low mood, anxiety or, my general wellbeing on a regular basis, making the most simple day to day tasks quite testing, this in turn effects my own motivation levels. I am currently waiting on further assessments from the Post-Covid (Long-Covid) service.

I am attempting the Coastal Challenge that consists of walking 22 miles in 1 day, from Hunstanton to Wells-next-the-Sea.
I have chosen this challenge to test myself personally and physically, in an attempt to try and prove something to myself and for something to be proud of completing!

Any donations and support you can give will be a huge boost to myself personally as I undertake the challenge but financially, it will mean so much to the Foundation itself. Without vital fundraising, the Foundation could not operate, and as a result many people across Norfolk would be deprived of their support. For £150, you could help to subsidise a year's sessions for a member of the Foundation's pan-disability football sessions. For £600, you can enable an adult with a disability the chance take part in one of our comprehensive training and work placement programmes. These 2 examples provide me with enough motivation to want to contribute to help and support to make a difference for those less fortunate than myself. Any donation is gratefully received and appreciated so much. 100% of money raised goes to the Foundation directly. A BIG Thank you in advance!
