On Sunday 2nd June this year, we are going to cycle from Swanley Village to Lands End, via the coastal route. The journey will be 424 miles and we hope to arrive in Cornwall on Friday 7th June. We are doing this to raise money for Myeloma UK, this little known cancer charity receives no government funding and relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising activities. Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma, is a type of cancer arising from plasma cells which are found in the bone marrow. The treatment required for this devastating disease is both intrusive and painful, but there have been many new developments in the treatment and management of myeloma over the last few years that have had a significant impact on the way myeloma is treated.
Myeloma UK continues to research further treatments and drugs for myeloma that can be very effective at halting its progress, controlling its symptoms and complications and improving quality of life. However, sadly, treatment for myeloma is not curative, we know this as last year a very special friend of ours was diagnosed with myeloma, at the tender age of 44.
So please dig deep and donate now to a great cause that does fantastic work by improving the quality of people’s lives...
Thank you all so much.......
Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
