Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Maisie is a vibrant, energetic, beautiful 10 year old with her whole life ahead of her.
On 15th January 2016 Maisie was diagnosed with a brain tumour, or Bob as called it. On 4th February she underwent a 7 hour operation at Addenbrookes to remove as much of Bob as possible, however as it is situated around her brain stem they were not able to remove it all, they got 80% of it. The good news is Bob is a low grade pilocytic astrocytoma and is benign
The extensive surgery took its toll on Maisie's little body and there were complications with her breathing, resulting in her spending the next few days put back to sleep to help her body recover.
It's going to be a slow process, she is now regaining some feeling in her hands and movement in her arms. Maisie, Dawn and Darrell have the support of the Sick Children's trust throughout this process. Please see their website for all that they do. They are vital for families going through so much.
I will be taking part in Born survivor in Manchester on 24th September, a gruelling 10km military obstacle race to help raise money for this charity that has touched the lives of my sister, niece and brother-in-law. I'll be running this with my wife Nomi and the Bog trotters.
I've dusted off the treadmill and started training, anyone that knows me knows this is a real challenge.
