Saint Francis Hospice is a leading provider of palliative care for people living in Havering, Brentwood, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham. We care for people from 18 years of age, of any race or religion, who have a life limiting illness due to cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease or respiratory disease and we provide physical, spiritual and emotional care and support to patients and their families.

Story

In memory of my dad Bob Godfrey, who we lost last year to cancer, I will be completing the London Marathon next year.

I am very proud to be running on behalf of Saint Francis Hospice.

They are an amazing organisation who offer palliative care to the terminally ill. They provide patients with the most dignity, respect and comfort possible, and all of their services are free of charge.

I hope my contribution will help them to continue providing the level of care my dad received in his final days.

This will be the first meaningful run I’ve done for 25 years and my training is now underway.

Already, I am finding the nighttime runs around the street of Dagenham, in the cold and wet, dodging gangs of hoodies and skipping past the occasional pit bull, an absolute joy.

Still, only 5 months to go ...

Any contributions will be very gratefully received.  Thanks!
