Thanks friends for taking a look at my JustGiving page. Any donations you make in support of my challenge will go directly to Diabetes UK.
I was a late-onset diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 43. At first I stopped running because it was tough enough to just do life. Then I decided to challenge my condition by going back to running and over the years I've completed a fair number of half marathons including Guernsey, Basingstoke and Bath. I'll be 58 for the 2019 London Marathon which is challenging enough but training and running at this level and managing my blood sugar will be the hardest part. I've been inspired by other Type 1 marathon runners and, as one said, I'm not running with Diabetes, I'm going to let Diabetes run with me!
I'm going to be blogging and vlogging during my training over the next seven months. If you'd like to keep up with my progress please follow @steve_falla on Twitter or find me on Facebook.
I'm very grateful to Diabetes UK for inviting me to be part of their team and especially thankful to you for any donation you'd care to make in support of my London Marathon bid.
