I am walking the whole length of the southwest coastal path in memory of my deceased wife Janet Disney who died of a brain tumour. in June this year. The reason for this walk is to raise awareness of this horrible ailment. Here are just a few facts to go on with. Brain tumours kill more children and those under 40 than any other cancer, yet research into the disease receives just 1% of the national spend to cancer research. Another sad statistic is that the South West has the highest incidence of brain tumours in the UK. At the brain tumour research we aim to raise £4 million every year to fund 4 centres of excellence across the UK. There are 2 in London, 1 in Portsmouth and 1 in Plymouth. Each day of research costs £2,740 in each of the centres , so PLEASE HELP TO COMBAT this disease . Thank You .
