Story
Our wonderful son, Luke, has Leukemia and has to date been cared for brilliantly by the blood cancer team at University College London Hospital.
We are participating in the 60 mile (100 kms) UCLH Virtual Big Charity Run (walk!!) during October. We are doing this event as part of “Leukathon“, a wonderful cross boarder community fund raising event arranged by Luke’s friends and family.
We normally live in Sydney and came to London in early August to help support Luke and his family. We have just returned to Sydney, with Luke and his family, as Luke will have the transplant stage of his treatment here in Sydney, with the blessing and support of the UCLH team.
We started our UCLH Big Charity event by walking the sights and parks of London during the first half of October, we continued on our quarantine balcony in here in Sydney for 2 weeks (stationary bike!!) and now we are walking and biking Near our home in Sydney!!! It has been a journey, a disrupted one, but a wonderful one, and reminds us very day of the medical teams around the world doing amazing things every single day.
