Story
I am due to travel to Tanzania in Oct 2016 to climb Mount Kilimanjaro (highest single standing mountain in the world) and rumour has it that we may even be trying to play a game of sevens rugby when we get near the top!!
Nearly 6,000 metres above sea level and not only will it be an effort to walk, but we are planning to try to run (slowly) and pass a Rugby Ball.
To add to the complications at that altitude we are still trying to work out what will happen to the ball as we go up the mountain and come back down…assuming it’s all in one piece at that point.
Anyway…the most important part of this is it’s all in aid of a charity called Bibic. Please do take the time to read up on their work shown on this site.
I would be grateful to anyone who can help me raise money for this important children’s charity and promise to keep anyone interested up to speed with my exploits as the journey unravels.
I have already been told tails of long drop toilets, steaming hot days and freezing cold nights as well as altitude sickness and many other issues for me to deal with on my trip but both the fund raising and the view from the top will be worth it I am told!
Please do take the time to make a donation, however small and leave a suitable(!) comment to encourage me to complete this enormous challenge as I feel there will be times when I will need them.
To get the whole thing started St James Place Foundation have already been very generous in their support of this endeavour and donated to the cause for which both Bibic and I are enormously grateful.
Incidentally if you have any tips or have actually done this yourself in the past please feel free to offer advice either on the site or by email but please most of all take five minutes to donate
Thank you in advance!
