Story
After being convinced by a friend a number of years ago, I am finally embarking on running the London Marathon this year. There has been a lot of training, complete with a fair few injuries and of course the odd limp now and again.
I am fundraising for Friends of PICU, the children's intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital. The unit provides care for children from newborns to 17 years old who have serious and complex illnesses or following major surgery. They also provide support and accommodation to the families of these children whilst they are being treated at the unit. In order to provide this level of care, they constantly need to maintain and purchase new life saving equipment.
My Nephew, Dylan, was admitted to the unit after problems at birth. Thanks to the care and support provided by PICU, he is now a healthy (and slightly hyperactive) three year old.
Your support is greatly appreciated and anyone in London on April 25th, please come down and support me at mile 22.
