Story
I am taking part in a Yogathon with my fellow yogis. We have trained with Jivan Mukta Academy and come from Scotland and the northeast of England,. We meet, once a month, in Edinburgh, to develop our practice and understanding of Kundalini Yoga.
As part of our commitment to serving others, we are organising a charity fundraising event, which includes a morning of sponsored yoga followed by a community Kundalini Yoga class for Edinburgh based charity, Steps to Hope.
Steps to Hope is run completely by volunteers and offers charitable services, and signposting to support groups, for those suffering from homelessness or addiction, on the streets of Edinburgh. The majority of any funds raised go towards providing housing for homeless people waiting to go into rehabilitation.
We chose Steps to Hope as Kundalini Yoga is known to help people recovering from addiction and other mental health issues and like Kundalini Yoga, the charity embodies a consciousness of hope.
If you would like to participate in the community yoga class on Sunday 1st December at The Yoga Room qt 5a Forth Street, Edinburgh please sign up here:
