Story
My name is Christyna Prokipchuk, and what is happening in my ancestral homeland feels very personal to me. As a first-generation Canadian, I feel very privileged to be able to take my safety, wellbeing, security, and future for granted. I believe that with privilege always comes a responsibility to step up for those in need.
This is why, on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 - together with a group of long-time cycling enthusiasts from the Niagara Region - I am organizing a fundraising event and online silent auction you won't want to miss! Please join us and STEPPE UP for Ukraine!.
My Goals:With "STEPPE UP for Ukraine" my primary goal is to organize a successful fundraising cycling event on Saturday, July 23, 2022. My secondary goal is to complete the 19-km ride.
- Our team fundraising goal is to raise $30,000.
- My personal fundraising goal is to raise $5,000.
All money raised is going directly to the registered Canadian-Ukrainian charity, Help Us Help.
About Help Us Help:
Help Us Help is currently responding to urgent needs on the ground in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the invasion, Help Us Help has:
- Responded to urgent requests from volunteer medics and first responders in Ukraine by procuring and distributing urgently requested medical supplies.
- Supported the relocation of its program participants, who were located in high-risk areas, to safer locations.
- Responded to humanitarian requests from past program participants and leaders of residential institutions and orphanages who care for Ukraine’s vulnerable children.
Founded in 1993, Help Us Help is a federally registered Canadian charitable organization (891205940RR0001) focused on humanitarian aid and educational projects in Ukraine. Help Us Help’s mission is to provide the tools, training and resources that improve the lives of Ukraine’s disadvantaged children and conflict-affected veterans, enabling them to become fully contributing members of society.
