Story
Our group is walking up Snowdon on Saturday 18th June and will be doing other fundraising activities over the next couple of months to raise funds and spread awareness for Amantani. Amantani is a charity which helps children in rural areas of Peru access education by providing boarding houses for them to stay in during the week. Before Amantani started work in the area, the children had to walk up to 8 hours a day to get to and from school, meaning their education was being wasted as they were too tired to learn once they arrived. Our walk up Snowdon represents the walk these young children had to undertake every day just to get to school.
Amantani not only offers safe boarding houses near to the children's schools, but offers academic support , extra-curricular activities, personal development workshops and community outreach projects. Their work is carried out with the ultimate aim of keeping these disadvantaged groups of children in education, promoting social inclusion and encouraging indigenous autonomy and cultural pride.
This is such an amazing charity working for such a brilliant cause, so please donate!
