Story
1. Why does Mencap need its very own Santa?
Ho, ho, ho. Mencap needs a Santa and more importantly me as Santa because I'm a thoroughly modern Santa. I cook my own Christmas packed lunch, clean out the Reindeer stables and even polish the sleigh's bonnet. I do all this to make sure Mrs Claus can put up her feet nice and early - you could call me a 'Metro Santa'. Why does this matter to Mencap? Well Mencap is becoming more modern and changing its brand so who better to have spreading joy and happiness but a modern Santa.
2. What special qualities do you have that would make you the perfect Santa for 2007?
I wear sunglasses in the dead of winter in lapland - need I say more.
I also have the fundamental qualities required such as a large belly - I've been cultivating it for several months especially - and a love for mince pies.
3. Santa is responsible for the magic and spirit of Christmas. If you could grant the Mencap community one wish, what would it be?
I would wish that Mencap could raise more awareness amongst the public about learning disability because so few people know what it means.
