Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I would really appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small-Please
THE BACKGROUND
Despite the best efforts, very little progress has been made towards tackling pancreatic cancer. The disease has the lowest survival rate of almost any cancer - something that has hardly changed in the last 40 years. So please support this appeal to fund research at the Freeman Hospital.
My good friend Pete was diagnosed with one of the rare forms of Pancreatic Cancer 30 months ago- he has had half his Pancreas and all his Spleen removed, and undergone Chemotherapy, but does not know what the future holds, because the "experts" don't know either.
Sadly he passed away on 10/4/2014 following a long battle with this hideous disease.
His family set up a trust in his name to fund research so these questions can be tackled. Even if it does not help Pete, it can go some way to helping to address the causes of this terrible disease
MY EVENTS SO FAR. WATCH THIS SPACE
The first week of June I we cycled the C2C with Pete! The following day I joined the younger group to climb the 3 Peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafell and then Snowdon. At 62, I must be bonkers, but managed to rise to the challenge. After what Pete went through , this was a walk in the park!
