Story
There are people with smiles like warm rays of summer sun, who inspire you to be the best version of yourself by simply being themselves. That is how Sophie was and still is to everyone who knows her, from family to friends, teachers, local postmen, dinner ladies, doctors and nurses. She was so brave, ever caring and loving to those around her. While her time with her loved ones was far too short, she forever imprinted a powerful presence within them, a reminder of what a wonderful world can be.
Sophie’s Parents.
I am a local postie who got to know Sophie and her family, and have decided to run the Great North Run in Sophie’s memory. I will be raising money for an amazing charity, The Lily Foundation, who fund research, support families and raise awareness of Mitochondrial Disease.
Mitochondrial Disease is a genetic condition affecting people at all ages in a wide variety of ways. Everyday a child is born in the UK who will develop Mitochondrial Disease, yet there is no cure. Supporting medical research is one of The Lily Foundation’s fundamental aims so that we will be better equipped with the right knowledge and methods to fight against it.
So please give generously to this amazing charity and the brilliant work they do. Your donation could be key to ground-breaking research and treatments that could help and save millions of lives. Thank you.
