Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2009 has been an eventful year personally, I came back from a family holiday to Las Vegas with Chronic Pneumonia & was hospitalised for a week, I then ran the Manchester 10k for a local cancer charity only then find out that I had developed DVT with a large clot forming in the major artery of my lung.
All this seems insignificant when our service personnel are facing constant dangers in areas of conflict, losing limbs, being maimed or paying the ultimate sacrifice of their life.
My plan is to row the distance from Times Square New York City to Warrington an overall distance of 3489 miles [5616km] on a rowing machine. My plan is to cover 6 to 7 miles per day with an overall expected timescale of 2 1/2 years. My son John, some work colleagues & friends have offered to row part of the distance with me thus reducing the overall expected timescale.
The planned route will visit each of the Morris & Spottiswood offices along the journey.
My planned route is: Times Square, New York, USA to Helen Street Glasgow to Gorgie Road Edinburgh to Daten Park Warrington.
The progress up to the end of April 2010 can be tracked by clicking on the link below:
A big thankyou to all the staff at Belle Vue Leisure Centre for allowing me the use of a rowing machine free gratis throughout this challenge. Many thanks also to Craig Fisher [Parklands Country Club Manager] for his support in allowing me to use the rowing machine free gratis throughout the month of December. No donation is too small, every little helps.
