Story
In 2020, an old friend and I were planning to walk 877kms along The Camino de Santiago in Spain, via the "French Way" from the French border to the Atlantic. First we had to delay our journey due to COVID, and then because my friend was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). It's a brutal disease with no cure. My friend died in April 2021, so, starting in April 2023, I'm now doing the hike in his honour and to help others who are battling the same awful disease. I'd like to raise £11,151, which is 1 penny for each of the 1,150,919 steps I'm going to be taking along The Way. You'll help me do that!
Doctors and scientists at the Euan MacDonald Centre undertake vital research into motor neurone disease (MND). Uniting over 200 doctors, scientists and NHS healthcare professionals across Scotland, it aims to improve the lives of people living with MND, and to slow, stop and eventually reverse this devastating condition. Please donate to my JustGiving page today.
