Derby to Skegness 100 miles Cycle, 5 April 2014
We provide a free holiday at our centre to improve the lives of children

Story

We are cycling from DERBY to SKEGNESS again, taking a route which ensures we cover at least 100 MILES.

As you probably know the centre provides holidays for children whose lives are such that they will benefit from a change to, and respite from, their daily lives.

The centre receives no income 'as of right' and is funded entirely by voluntary donation. The cost of a child’s holiday is £330 PER WEEK.

Children nominated are likely to come from homes where the impact of financial hardship, deprivation or abuse has created a situation where stress is all too common and there are few comforts.

Children may also be nominated where parental care is warm and loving, but is unable to extend to providing the benefits such as a holiday, in other cases it may be due to the inability of parents to cope with situations and the demands of the life in which they find themselves.
