Story
My wonderful father-in-law, Keith Bellinger sadly died 3 weeks ago today. He was recently diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a disease that is directly caused by exposure to asbestos, a substance to which he was exposed as a teenager on the dockyard in Chatham. Vicky, her brother Gareth and our daughters Grace and Alice are all completing this run for the Hospice in the Weald in his memory and to thank them for the amazing support they gave to Keith and my mother-in-law Jennifer in the last few weeks of his life. We are all still shocked by his rapid decline and death. He was an infinitely kind and loving father, grandfather and husband and I enjoyed his company enormously. He was the most youthful looking grandfather ever and still had darker hair than me in his seventies, once being mistaken for the girls’ father rather than grandfather.
An avid classic motorbike and Formula 1 fan he had a keen taste in all sorts of music from 70s rock to singing in the local choral society. We all have wonderful memories of time with him on family holidays together to France and to the Isle of Arran. Rest in eternal peace. If you feel you can donate in his memory that would be wonderful.
