Raising money for the Stroke Association!

31 Minutes of exercise in May · 1 May 2024 to 31 May 2024 ·
I'm taking on 31 Minutes of exercise in May! I'm challenging myself to complete 31 minutes of a exercise (of my choosing) every day throughout May.
On 5th March 2024 I had a stroke at the age of 31, I want to help raise awareness of strokes in young people and raise vital funds to help rebuild lives after a stroke.
Somehow a blood clot managed to reach my brain, damaging my left frontal lobe which has caused problems with my speech and language, as a result I'm having to learn to talk again. It's affecting my life in so many ways but I want to keep positive. I'm changing my life for the better since my stroke and taking steps towards living a healthy lifestyle to help prevent me having another stroke. One thing is to try and be more active and get my heart pumping! The doctors aren't sure yet why I had my stroke but they are leaning towards possible heart problems so keeping my heart healthy will be a massive help in my recovery. I will need to take it easy but I'm determined to get at least 31 minutes of exercise even if it's just a walk!
Your fundraising can help in incredible ways:• £50 could help us fund research to find new ways to help stroke survivors with communication difficulties.• £150 could help pay for research into new stroke treatments, such as thrombolysis, a clot-busting drug that returns the blood supply to the brain that has transformed the outcomes of stroke survivors who have received it.• £250 could pay for one hour of Helpline activity, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones after stroke.
