Story
For those of you who may not know, our family has been struck with this horrible genetic disease for decades, and has unfortunately led to the death of family members including my father, aunt and grandfather. In 2020 I was also diagnosed with this disease. Polycystic kidney disease (also called PKD) causes numerous cysts to grow in the kidneys. These cysts are filled with fluid. If too many cysts grow or if they get too big, the kidneys can become damaged. PKD cysts can slowly replace much of the kidneys, reducing kidney function and leading to kidney failure. I have decided to participate in the “Walk to end PKD” this year and would be honoured if you would join me in this fight.
You can help me make an incredible impact in raising awareness and funds for critical PKD research! By making a personal donation your efforts will help strengthen the direct funding of the PKD Foundation of Canada's mission to promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and cure for PKD and improve the lives of all it affects!
