Story
As you all know Andy passed away on 14 December 2015, a year previously he had been diagnosed with incurable, advanced, colorectal cancer. During 2015 we were able to spend precious time together and make happy memories thanks to the support of Shooting Star Chase who cared for our life limited, very medically complex younger daughter Daisy during respite breaks and hospice at home visits. The reality we face is that while our family of 6 is now 5, at some point we will become 4 as Daisy's complexities mean that her life is shortened also. When that time comes we know that ShootingStar-Chase will be for us. Andy was passionate about raising funds and awareness for children's hospices in the UK and were are asking people to honour his memory by donating in lieu of flowers.
In case you need any further incentive I am running the London Marathon for a 4th time in 2016 as part of the ShootingStar-Chase team. It will be incredibly poignant for me as it will be the first time I will cross the finish line of a marathon and Andy will not be there to cheer me. Every step will be run in his memory and for our children as they adjust to life without their beloved daddy.
