Story
Hey everyone, and thanks for having a gander on my Just Giving page. Chances are that we are friends or relatives, and that if you're awesome enough you will sponsor me to run this terrifying marathon!
As anyone who has spent time with me will know, I am not a runner. Nor am I an exerciser, a fast mover, a clean eater, or a sports nut. Apart from whistling and drooling over the welsh rugby team's thighs, running for the ice cream van or wiggling my jelly all over the place when my favourite songs come on in clubs, I tend to stay very still and serene, with a nice glass of wine in one hand and a spoon for opportunistic eating in the other.
But this half marathon is a different story. I chose to enter it and begin running so I could raise money for the amazing charity that is the Welsh Air Ambulance. My Uncle, Robert Palmer is the charity's founder, who passed away in February and who left behind my beautiful cousins and Aunt, but also his amazing legacy with the charity. His optimism and tireless work for the WAA was unstoppable, and I am running, and completing this half marathon for him and this great cause.
There are times I have run and thought about stopping or getting out of the race altogether. And then an Air Ambulance will fly over me, and I remember why I decided to do it in the first place.
Please donate to this page and for the WAA, for my Uncle, and for my sore, tired legs. Every pound counts, and you or someone you love may need help from them in the future so help me out!
