Story
Hi! This is my JustGiving page. Thanks for taking time to have a look.
What are you doing?
From 22nd to the 29th of October I am undergoing a sponsored bike ride from Mainz in Germany to Tadworth; totaling approximatley 90 miles a day - not too far then.....I've been in training since last November but I think I may have underestimated the sheer effort needed to complete it. However if I can cycle up the Olympic Zig Zag I'm sure I'll be fine....it's all flat in europe right?
Completing the team, 3 other members will be taking part; Mick, Sam and Ollie. Through out the summer we have been out on many a cycle ride and have been having many discussions on how best to raise money, but the event is getting closer. As the weeks draw on we will be trying to raise as much sponsorship as possible through lots of different ways....you might even be able to catch a glipse of us in our cycling lycra and helmets wandering up Tadworth Street with buckets for donations. Please stop and say hello! If you won't get a chance to pop down and see us then please donate online, simply by clicking the 'donate now button.' Or if you would rather, please get in touch with me and I can write you down on my fundraising sheet with your pledge.
Why are we cycling this far?
It's my church's Centinary (100th) year next year and there a plans underway to build a new Lady Chapel in which smaller church services can be held allowing the church to save money on electricity, heating and other maintance bills, letting the church to utilize the money saved for more beneficial purposes. I have been involved in the Church since I was 8 years old and am part of a long line of the Giles family who have attended there - I'm also the 5th generation to sing in the choir! Therefore, as my first big fundraising event I thought I would start local and raise money to build the new chapel, after all the saying goes 'charity begins at home!'
Please sponsor me!
Thank you!
