Wag & Co is a wonderful charity that addresses loneliness and social isolation in the elderly across the North East. An estimated 50,000 pensioners in the region are chronically lonely and are 50% more likely to die prematurely than people with good social networks. Many are dog lovers and when they ask for a furry friend from Wag & Company, they get the bonus of a very nice two legged one at the same time. By supporting Walk for Wag Anywhere 2020, you can help us end loneliness for older dog lovers in our communities.

This year, Alfie and I will not be doing this walk alone.  Alfie has a two-legged BFF!  Her name is Ellie (and Ellie's mum, Rebecca).  They have become such good friends during Lockdown.  Alfie has been supporting Ellie throughout these strange times, particularly helping her cope with her anxiety. Sadly her sporting activities stopped in March, but Alfie and Ellie have enjoyed some lovely walks and love playing together.

This walk is going to be a real challenge for Ellie, as this will be the furthest she would have ever walked. She loves a challenge, and Alfie will be supporting her all the way.
