Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself, Ash & Jack along with family, and Friends, will be abseiling 100ft down the outside of The John Radcliffe (The JR) hospital in memory of my Sister, Amy Evans & her unborn daughter Ruby, who sadly lost their lives in a road traffic accident on 7 June 2019.

Also involved in the incident, were three children. Amy & Jack’s son Harry, and Ash & my two daughters, Lily and Grace. All three children were admitted to The JR where the received extensive treatment on two broken arms, in multiple places, on both Lily and Grace, which included wires and metal rods being placed in their arms to aid their healing.  In addition, Grace suffered a head injury and was required to be put into an induced coma to prevent any further swelling to the brain.

Thankfully Jack was able to take Harry home with minor bruising, a huge comfort to all as Harry is so loved by everyone who knows him and most of all by Jack and Amy who have raised the happiest and most loving little boy together.

Thankfully the girls are making a full recovery, but a huge thanks has to go to the level of care that the children received from the point they arrived at the hospital, throughout their seven days of treatment, and the aftercare since they have been discharged has been incredible, and we are so thankful for everything they have done for our family.  Without their continued support, we do not know, or wish to think, what the outcome could have been. Whilst we can't undo what has happened to Amy & Ruby, we are so grateful that all the staff at The JR ensured a safe return home for all the children involved.

In a bid to try repay the staff at The JR Hospital, in particular the team at The Children Critical Care Unit, we are all taking ourselves out of our comfort zone to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause.  Money raised for this charity will ensure families will continue to receive the highest level of support available, and hopefully more injured children will return home safely.

Amy was a proud and devoted Mum to her beloved Harry, and was so excited to be a Mum again to her unborn daughter Ruby. Amy would be proud of everyone getting involved and she would have wanted this charity to be supported, so please help us raise as much as possible.
