Story
I am raising money for East Anglian Air Ambulance because they saved my friend Jess. Jess sustained life-threatening injuries after a tree fell down unexpectedly at a party we were attending in July 2021.
East Anglian Air Ambulance receives no regular government funding and relies entirely on the support of the community. They can reach anywhere in the region within 25 minutes, when every second can make the difference to a patient in their time of need.
Sadly, Jess sustained a spinal cord injury during the accident and is paralysed from her waist down. But without the help of the air ambulance, the outcome could have been much worse.
Jess and I lived together throughout university and she is hugely important to me. I am running the marathon to give thanks to the service who acted with such speed and skill to save Jess' life. Although it will be extremely challenging, Jess has shown me that anything is possible!
