Story
In January 2021 my dad was diagnosed with cancer from a tumour in his throat, after a short amount of time the illness acted on his body very quickly. In March 2021 he was given just 3 days left to live, but he fought through and proved that he was not yet ready to leave this world.
In May 2021 dad was taken into the care of Severn Hospice during his last few days of life, as he was now in a lot of pain and struggling with his breathing at this point. From the moment he was cared for by Severn Hospice they did all they could to take the pain away from him and make him comfortable.
We were overwhelmed with the compassion of the Severn Hospice team, not only for their support but their willingness to do all they could for us as a family during this difficult time.
Those of you who knew my dad, knew that he had always wanted to run the London Marathon but was never successful through the ballot. When dad was still with us, I told him I would make sure I would run it on his behalf and get that medal. Not only would I love to run the London Marathon on his behalf, but I would love to raise money for Severn Hospice to thank them for their hard work and allow them continue this service for many of other families in need.
Raising money for Severn Hospice allows for more patients to be cared for with 24/7 support, medical supplies, specialists nurses, scrubs and more. Without donations they would be unable to exist.
Any donation is highly appreciated not only by myself, but by my family too as Severn Hospice has a very special place in our heart for their massive help during the worst 36 hours of our lives.
Thank you x
