We are delighted to be taking on London Marathon 2018 and to support such a fantastic cause, the Countess Charity Ultrasound Breast Scanner Appeal.

We are delighted to be working with The Countess of Chester, as a local charity which impacts so greatly on the lives and welfare of local people.

In particular, it is an honour to be involved in the most recent Ultrasound Breast Scanner Appeal and can't wait to see the money raised with your help go towards a tangible and so worthwhile cause.

Below is a note from The Countess Charity, which explains more about this cause:

"A new ultrasound scanner is required to replace an existing scanner, which was installed back in 2009 and was purchased from charitable fundraising.

Our Breast Care Unit currently has 2 scanners which are used daily.

We would like a new scanner to help reduce waiting times for patients.

Whilst most women are familiar with a mammogram image, the ultrasound is often used in younger patients as breast tissue is denser with less fat – making for a much clearer image.

Diagnosis and further investigation can be made during scanning. They are also used for lymph node scanning and in preparation for surgery."
