Story
I will be running the Southampton Half Marathon (my first one!) on April 24th 2022 to raise money for Lily's Sarcoma Appeal, which funds research into sarcomas. Sarcomas are a rare type of childhood cancer and there isn't much known about them.
Lily is a local Winchester girl and the daughter of a friend of a friend of mine. Lily was 9 when she was diagnosed with cancer and after 10 rounds of chemotherapy, ovarian cryopreservation, surgery to remove the sarcoma and six weeks of radiotherapy, Lily’s now finished her treatment and is cancer free.
No child should have to go through what she has been through but unfortunately she isn't the only young person I know to have been through this. They and their families have shown super human strength and determination so the least I can do is put on my running shoes and raise some money to fund vital and much needed research.
We all know that charities have been hit hard by the pandemic so we need to help them now more than ever - I would be so grateful if you can donate a few pounds to help Lily's Sarcoma Appeal and the CCLG.
