Story
Step by Step have joined the 2.6 Challenge – a fun and easy way to help save the UK’s charities at a very challenging time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic impact on the charity sector, with cancelled events and billions lost in fundraising. Step by Step, like other UK charities, is looking for alternative sources of funding, which is why we are getting involved in this nationwide campaign.
The 2.6 Challenge takes place on Sunday 26th April 2020 – what would have been the date of the London Marathon, the world’s biggest single-day fundraising event.
So How Does It Work?
It’s simple – think up an activity that is based around the numbers ‘2.6’ or ‘26’. It could be running 2.6 miles a day, doing 26 sit-ups or hopping 26 laps of your garden. The idea is to get active, get involved, but more importantly, get sponsored to raise money for Step by Step at a time we need your help more than ever.
Whatever activity you chose to do, just make sure you adhere to the Government’s social distancing guidelines, and if choosing an outside activity, do it as part of your allotted daily exercise.
We’re hoping that the 2.6 Challenge will bring some much-needed fun. There’s already a lot of participation and some famous faces on board.
If you don’t want to do a sponsored activity, you can sponsor others or donate to the campaign.
