Dryathlon 2015 · 1 January 2015 to 31 January 2015 ·
When I registered to take part in Race for life to raise funds for Cancer Research UK in April, little did I know that two months later I would be diagnosed with breast cancer and that I would be having my first surgery a day after the race - on 7th July.
I have not only been battling cancer, I have also been battling with whether I should talk openly about my illness. In the end, I decided it shouldn’t have to be a battle and that having cancer is nothing to be ashamed of. It is estimated that more than 1 in 3 of us will get cancer. As you read this, you probably either know someone who has cancer or someone who has died from cancer. But thanks to the amazing work done by Cancer Research UK, cancer is no longer the death sentence it used to be. That’s why I’ve decided to carry on raising funds for Cancer Research UK by taking on another challenge – the Dryathlon!
I hope you will donate generously to my page to support the pioneering work done by Cancer Research UK. Their work has led to a break-through in the area of drugs that not only successfully treat various types of cancer but also help to prolong the lives of terminal cancer sufferers - buying them more precious time to spend with their loved ones.
The only way they can carry on with their ground-breaking research is through your generous donations. You will not only be saving the lives of thousands of cancer patients through your donations, you will also be saving my life.
Please donate generously to this very worthy cause.
Thank you!
