Seafarers UK 24 Peaks Challenge
Campaign by The Seafarers' Charity (RCN England & Wales 226446 and Scotland SC038191)
The 24 Peaks Challenge is one of the most demanding and rewarding team-building events in the UK. The challenge is to climb 24 peaks, all over 2,400 ft., in 24 hours across the Lake District.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Steamship's entry into this year's 24 Peaks Challenge. The event takes place on the 8th and 9th of July and we are busy training and fundraising for this worthy cause.

The challenge involves crossing 24 mountains all of which are located in the English Lake District and over 2,400 feet high with the aim of doing this in under 24 hours. The peaks include eight of the ten highest mountains in England; Scafell Pike, Hevellyn, III Crag, Broad Crag, Lower Man, Great End, Bowfell and Great Gable. The event is described as 'the ultimate test of endurance' with a total ascent over 13,000 feet.

Whilst we may suffer discomfort over the course of the challenge, this is nothing compared to some of those individuals in the wider maritime community. Seafarers UK protects individuals and their families within the Merchant Navy, fishing fleets, Royal Navy and Royal Marines who face dangers on a daily basis. Their work relies heavily on donations so we would really appreciate it if you could support our efforts by making a donation to Seafarers UK.

Thank you again for looking at our JustGiving page!
