Story
Covid-19 means many of us are self isolating and social distancing, meaning many children will now be at home for the foreseeable. But home isn’t always a safe place, and for some children school was a refuge.
We feel so fortunate to have this extra quality time with our girls, but schools closing could put some children at greater risk of abuse and neglect. This is a difficult time for everyone, but if you can, please help and support the wonderful work of the NSPCC who are committed to keeping children safe in these challenging times.
£15 could pay for their Speak Out Stay Safe programme to reach 5 primary school children every month, empowering them to recognise abuse and speak out if they're worried.
£5 could cover the cost of answering a call to the NSPCC helpline about an adult who is worried about a child.
£4 could pay for 1 of our trained volunteer counsellors to answer a child's call for help to Childline.
If you’re worried about a young person, or if you notice that something just doesn’t seem right, the NSPCC Helpline team can offer free support and guidance on 0808 800 5000 (8am-10pm Mon-Fri / 9am-6pm weekends) or by email using help@nspcc.org.uk.
